I haven't seen Don't Breathe yet although it's highly-rated enough to intrigue me (especially with your support), but you've set the stage quite nicely for those who might want to consider having their wits rattled (or, if not, they could at least listen to this marvelous Joplin album). The only redeeming grace for me was the interesting Haley Bennett as the strong woman lead in the film. The director failed to exploit the talents of Peter Sarsgaard as the villain or Ethan Hawke as the conflicted war "hero".

While the reboot does echo classic western elements, the viewer might be better served with any of Ken's last four reviews, including Snowden (far better than expected), The Beatles (engaging), Sulley (Tom Hanks) or even The Light Between Oceans (clearly well written and acted). For those who desire something more visceral without the huge body count, I recommend Don't Breathe, a well executed blend of the classic 1967 Audrey Hepburn and Alan Arkin Wait Until Dark and the more recent John Goodman 10 Cloverfield Lane. My musical interlude for Don't Breathe would then have to be Janis Joplin's classic Cheap Thrills album (with Janis as lead singer for 1968's Big Brother and the Holding Company).rjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13025728540081089210noreply@blogger.com
